you the best of luck. PS: I still haven't shipped out your flanges. I will send them out ASAP. :Hi everybody, this is George with Boost Solutions. I thought it is time to post something like this, since it has been a while since I posted personally. We have gotten into modding not only the Z, but several more turbo cars as well. As of today, we have 2 Zs, 4 Supras, 2 Evos, 1 Eclipse Turbo, 1 240sx, and 1 Silvia that we are workimg on right now. :I want to thank Nixit for giving me the advice to show up online more often. A lot of you have seen that it has been a while since I have posted. I really donot have the time to just sit at the computer and post. We have employees that do the ordering and tracking. :Here is the outline of everything that I wanted to talk about tonight. :- parts sales - you will still continue getting great deals on parts :- shipping/vendor issues - we try really hard to get you all teh parst that you need, but sometimes we depend on teh manufacturers ( like Stillen and JWT) :- what happened with our slicktop TT :- the cars that we work on right now :- our international orders - :- what is our standpoint on tuning :- AEM standalone is in the works :- ECU tuning alternatives :- our present project car :OK, lets start here: :- PARTS SALES :tt.net members will continue to get great deals on parst from us. We are adding all Nissan OEM parts at COMPETITIVE PRICES, also we are developing our own piping kits, turbo kits, intercooler kits, etc. :- SHIPPING/VENDOR ISSUES :HAlo is right that a lot of stuff is being dropshipped. But SSR rims cannot be dropshipped. Either way, we work very closely with leading market companies to provide you with AFFORDABLE quality name brand parts. We have had phone calls with several vendors on tt.net that wanted us to raise our PRICES. No name calling now. But we did not do it. :Shipping around teh holidays has been carzy. Lost clutches, damaged exhausts, and many more things. We are spending many hours a day on the phone with UPS. Example: UPS damaged a HKS exhaust twice, going to the same customer, and lost a Tein coilover suspension coming to us. We are doing our best,a nd we sent a replacement exhaust already to the customer. :Shipping and emails: a lot of you guys do not have valid email addresses in your emails, and we receive back our emails to you. :- WHAT HAPPENED WITH OUR Slicktop Z :Long story short, teh machine shop kille dteh engine. The block is at a different machine shop now, and they have a proof ( that is for you, Halo) what happened. :When I started the rebuild on my TT engine, I wante dthe best. SO I contacted Sunbelt Engine here in GA. Chad B recommended me to go with them. I saw Nixits posts about them. Everything went fine at teh beginning, and Jim at Sunbelt was very helpful. But 4 months later, after I paid for teh engine build and engine dyno tuning in full, all that went sounth. I could not get hold of him, and so on. His workers did a good job, but Jim himself assembled the engine. The whole thing took over a year, and we got some problems. Jim told me that he ius putting custom grind cams in teh engine, but just recently we found some JWT 500cams in it. Then, the bolt to teh oil cooler was leaking. Then , he wa strying to crank teh car with the standalone, and never changed the oil, flooded it with gas, until the engine would not start. Next was the prblem with my Eclipse engine. And teh Supra cams. The Eclpise timing belt was installed with one of the cams 180degrees off. The Supra cams were never shimmed. So , Jim put the engine togther and gave it back to me. everything was well for teh first 1400 miles. The car would not spool, but that was because it was not setup right at the cam gears. But we found that out after the accident. We went to teh dyno, and pulled 572rwhp at 18psi and 13 degrees of final timing. With teh 17 degrees of timing , that we wre goinmg to run, that engine at 18-19 psi would make some good 630-650rwhp. But We never got to that point. The lifters we re ticking,a nd the car would not spool until redline. :One day, after leaving work, I wa sin teh far left lane on teh highway,a nd teh car developed a rod knock, I changed lanes asap, but by the time I got in the far right lane, the car dies. And it would not start again. It was about 11pm. I was pissed, and by 3 am, after towing teh car back to teh shop, I pulled the engine. Everything looked good until I dropped the oil pan. Piece of metl, a lot of them. I flipped the engine upside down, and then I saw that 2 of the oil squirters were not there, but in pieces. One of the bigger pieces wa slodged between teh crank and of the rods. Earlier when I wa son teh highway, waiting for a tow truck, I got pissed at all that. Waiting for my engine for over 1 year, did so much to teh car, and now what. I did not want to do it over and over gain. So I ordered a GTR with my frind, and the next day I bought a brand new Mitsubishi Evolution 8. :Now the 300zx slkicktop is sold. I owned another yellow TT Z, taht with JWT intake, HKS Hiper, and our ECU at 15 psi did 349rwhp, with leaking boost hoses, and bad cats. But now I have concentrated on our Evo8 project. :- THE CARS THAT WE WORK ON RIGHT NOW :Our nam esays it all : it is all about BOOST. :We do some major work on several Supras, we have 2 Zs, one for a full engin build ( same machine shop that Z1 uses for their stuff),a nd teh other is a TT conversion. Then we just finished installing and tuning an Autronic SM2 ECU on a Mitsubishi Eclipse 1999 GST. Then we are working on a converted 240sx, putting a bigger turbo, intercooler etc on it. The new Evos are constantly atr our shop, getting all suspension work and bolt on work done. 2 600HP Evos are scheduled to be done sometime in February at our shop as well ( excluding mine). :- WE HAVE BEEN GETTING SOME MAJOR INTERNATIONAL ORDERS LATELY :A lot of business with Cyprus ( thanks Nick), orders to South Africa, Norway, Switzerland, France, and England. And the biggest PLAYER - Sweden. You guys have seen "Getaway in Stockholm" so you know what I am talking about. :One of our Swedish customers is getting EVERYTHING done to his engine, intercooler, and fuel systems. They have been doing some major groupbuys with us as well. :- ECU tuning - :Tuning is tuning, guys, a car wioll make the same power if it is tuned by teh same person. The only difference is in the all little extra features. What we prefer: :Stage 3-5 cars and cars with small turbo upgrades - new custom tuned chop ( TUNED SPECIFICALLY to YOUR mods, not a generic stage3 or stage 5 chip), and preferably some kind of good fuel control. Tuning for oen mod and then changing to a different mod influences everything. We switched teh FMIC on a fully tuned and fast 300zx, from Apollo to Greddy. The same chip thatwa sin teh car ha dto be redone immediately. After some more tweaking, the cr is making some great power right now. That was just an example how a little thing can influence the tuning of the car. :- AEM in the works :We are working on a AEM unit at our shop that will be a plug and play ion teh 300zx. This is onbe of teh best standalones for the any turbo car. Since it is a plug and play ECU, no need for rewiring it. More updates later. :- LOCAL COMPETOTION :Z1 MOtorsports does not really like the fact that we are here. We do not really care that they have more Zs there, but I do not like their attitude towards us. And the fact that they post that they are the BEST Z shop in the US, taht is just a stupid statement. The customers are teh ones taht decide who is the best. And by CUSTOMERS, I mean the majority of teh customers, not just one or two. Every shop has its good and bad situations, but we are trying to keep everybody happy. :I personally have satyed here until 6am to finish work on a customers Z from NC, so we can make it to the dyno the next day. :Also, I have to say that Nixit is right about choosing customers. Since we cannot keep everybody happy ( some people want the best work done at no cost, some people think that putting one of our stickers mean free labor for life on their Z), we will start offering services only at our opinion. We willnot acct any patch jobs like: " Can you fix just my cyl 6 rod , please? " etc. :- NEW PROJECT CAR :I have been always afraid to post that on tt.net because a lot of people here consider the Z to be the only good cr out there. :Either way, here is my story: :I have seen some good dyno numbers and track times with teh Evos. The car is NOT the same as Eclipse. The block is the same, but the head flows better, cams are better, valves are better, transmission holds 700whp, and the car HANDLES awesome. So I kep the car stock for the first month,. but was collecting some goodies to go on the car. :Like: :HKS exhaust manifold :HKS Racing SS wastegate :HKS T51R SPL turbo - 1000 PS Output :COMPRESSOR: :-Wheel- 56 Trim - 76.5 Inducer/ 102.2 Major :-Housing- 100 Inlet / 80 Outlet :TURBINE: :-Wheel- 76 Trim - 82.0 Major / 71.4 Exducer :-Housing- V-Band inlet / V-Band 115.5 mm outlet - 1.00 A/R : :HKS 100mm intake :Bosch 1600cc injectors x4 :Weldon 815lph Fuel pump :Weldon fuel pressure regulator :-10 AN fuel line :Greddy 4" intercooler ( the actual Supra 3row FMIC Greddy kit) :80mm inyercooler piping :ATS Triple disk Carbon clutch ( good for 1200HP) :AEM EMS standalone :AEM C2DI ignition :AEM Wideband controller :Custom 4" downpipe and a 5" (five) exhaust :Cusco oil catch can :Twin HKS SSQV BOVs :NX Direct port 150 shot of nitrous, controlled by the AEM :-Kenwood DVD 910 headunit, to display the AEM dashboard :Tein Flex coilovers :Tein EDFC :Defi Boost VSD gauge :Custom intake manifold, with a -8 fuel rail :Accufab 80mm throttle body : :Mods to be installed in January 2004: :- Ross pistons :- Carillo rods :- knife-edged 2.3liter crankshaft :- Tomei 260 degree/11.5 highlift cams IN and EX :- Tomei adjustable cam gears :- Ferrea dual valve springs :- Ferrea titanium retainers :- Ferrea 1" oversize SS valves with a radius valve job :- HKS 1mm headgasket :- Tomei Timing belt kit : : :Here are some links to the pictures: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
